July 30, Hangzhou – The Biopharmaceutical Industry Final of the 14th China Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition (Zhejiang Division) and the 12th Zhejiang Torch Cup Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition was held in Hangzhou. Following a fierce competition, Westlake Pharma distinguished itself by securing the highest score of the event, winning the championship in the Growth-Stage Group and advancing to the Zhejiang Provincial Final.

The China Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition is one of China's most prestigious, largest-scale, and most influential brand competitions. This year's event was guided by the Torch High Technology Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, hosted by the Economy and Information Technology Department of Zhejiang, and co-organized by the Zhejiang Torch Productivity Promotion Center.

The competition featured five industry tracks: new generation information technology, high-end equipment manufacturing, new materials, biopharmaceuticals, and a combined track for new energy, new energy vehicles, and energy conservation/environmental protection.

Since its launch in June, the Zhejiang division attracted 884 registered projects. A judging panel composed of investors and technical experts rigorously evaluated the projects based on five core criteria: technology and product, business model and implementation plan, industry and market, team, and financial analysis. Ultimately, 30 finalists were selected for each of the five industry finals.

A total of 9 start-up and 20 growth-stage companies competed in the Biopharmaceutical Industry Final. The competition format was an 8-minute presentation followed by a 7-minute Q&A session, requiring participants to comprehensively present their core technology, market prospects, and application blueprint within 15 minutes.

Westlake Pharma's project for the competition was "The Westlake AI Drug Discovery Platform: Driving Precision Drug Design with Intelligent Computing." The company representative introduced the proprietary AI drug discovery platform, WAND, detailing its unique advantages across the three dimensions of models, data, and computing power, as well as the technological features built upon this foundation. The WAND platform is already applied in the company's internal pipelines, enabling the team to achieve higher R&D efficiency than traditional methods, with key pipelines having already made significant breakthroughs.

Through the representative's composed and professional delivery, Westlake Pharma demonstrated strong technical capabilities and a clear path for future development, ultimately earning high recognition from the judges and the top score of the event. Next, Westlake Pharma will compete in the Zhejiang Provincial Final, and the ultimate winners will be recommended for the national competition.
