The Xihu District Committee and Government held their first major meeting of 2025, the Xihu District Technology Innovation Conference, at the Xihu Cultural and Sports Center. The event brought together experts and scholars from universities and research institutes, leadership from Xihu District's governing bodies and related departments, as well as numerous representatives from technology enterprises and investment institutions. For the second consecutive year, Xihu District has dedicated its "kick-off meeting of the new year" to technology innovation, issuing a powerful call to strive for excellence and achieve leapfrog development in the field.

At the conference, Westlake Pharma was honored with the title of 2024 Xihu District Excellent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Team.

In 2024, Xihu District focused on excelling in four key areas—science, technology, entrepreneurship, and innovation—achieving remarkable results over the past year. During the event, the district unveiled five major annual technology lists: five teams were named Excellent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Teams of the Year; twelve large models were recognized for Breakthrough AI Achievements of the Year; ten companies were honored as Key Innovation Leading Enterprises of the Year; twenty-two companies were designated Cutting-edge Innovation Rising Stars of the Year; and six platforms were awarded as High-Caliber New Quality Productive Platforms of the Year.

The commercialization of research is a critical link in the chain of technological innovation, and its importance is increasingly evident. As a technology commercialization enterprise spun out of Westlake University, Westlake Pharma represents a deep integration of resources from scientists, entrepreneurs, and investors, and is growing rapidly with strong policy support.

The year 2024 marked the fourth year since Westlake Pharma's founding. Currently, the company's first innovative drug candidate has entered the marketing authorization application stage in China. And another first-in-class drug has received IND clearance and is now in a Phase I clinical trial. Concurrently, the R&D for its anti-tumor pipeline is progressing in an orderly fashion, with two pipelines having already achieved milestone breakthroughs.
